Abstract

According to Saleh et al (2016) cassava is a food crop that has many advantages, for example, when food reserves (grains) experience a shortage, cassava can still be relied upon as a source of substitute material. This is because cassava is a plant that is resistant to lack of water so that it can still be produced even on degraded lands and the method of planting cassava is classified as very easy. Cassava is mostly cultivated on dry land with dry climates and wet climates. On dry land with dry climates in the southern part of Java Island, such as in the Regencies of Malang, Blitar, Tulungagung and Kediri as well as in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), cassava is planted in intercropping with corn, peanuts and upland rice. In dry land with wet climates such as Lampung, parts of West Java and North Sumatra, cassava is generally grown in monoculture.
